The system includes a powerful set of tools for integrating with external systems such as QuickBooks©.

Modules

Proven Reliability and Functionality

AMAPS has been the system of choice by leading Fortune 500 type manufacturers around the world. AMAPS has been in daily production for the past three decades in the widest variety of industries - from crayons to computers, food products to pharmaceuticals. This heritage of reliability and effectiveness provides the foundation upon which AMAPS+PLUS is built. The new technology of AMAPS+PLUS incorporates the proven AMAPS application code in object form and enhances the user functionality with new features and much greater ease of use.

Intelligent Graphical User Interface

The graphical user interface in AMAPS+PLUS is the result of working with AMAPS users for over twenty years. The interface is based on how planners, buyers, schedulers, cost accountants, engineers and others actually do their jobs. Graphic displays highlight potential problems. Production and material exception conditions are consolidated for review in one window. Work is simplified by displaying the appropriate information in an intelligible, usable manner. Users make "point and click" updates with minimal data entry. In addition, AMAPS+PLUS comes with an integrated user query tool which provides a "point and click" facility for ad hoc inquiries and data extraction.

Advanced Multi-tiered Architecture

The original AMAPS system employed multi-tiered architecture separating user presentation services, business logic and database processing. AMAPS+PLUS expands on this architecture by transforming the AMAPS components into "objects" which can be deployed on the appropriate platforms. You may elect to continue using your mainframes as application and/or database servers under existing operating systems and database managers. Or, you may choose to implement a totally LAN based environment with Windows or UNIX servers with any of the leading relational database managers.

Integration With Your Other Systems

Xantel recognized the reality that no one vendor could supply all the systems needed to run your business. AMAPS+PLUS is the only manufacturing system that was specifically designed from the beginning for seamless integration with your internal systems to other commercially-available applications. This integration is provided by a series of AMAPS+PLUS integration objects. One set of objects enables external systems to retrieve and/or update the AMAPS database with full edit/validation and audit trails. There is also a set of AMAPS ActiveX controls, which allow you to add AMAPS functions to your own applications. AMAPS+PLUS is Open Application Group Integration Standards (OAGIS) compliant and supports XML for sharing data.

Configuration Options

AMAPS+PLUS gives you many configuration options; from a stand-alone installation on a laptop to various client-server configurations.

Client Device

The end-user device can be any Microsoft Windows client or any device with Remote Desktop capability.

Application Server

For classic AMAPS, the application and database server has been an IBM System 390. AMAPS+PLUS still supports users running AMAPS on a mainframe. New and upgraded systems will run on a Microsoft Windows server. This could be a server on-premises, an Azure server or hosted on Xantel's server.

Database Server

The database server can be located on the same physical machine as the application server. AMAPS+PLUS supports multiple database management systems incuding SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, DB/2, IMS and Datacom
